Our Scope
The Markwell Group has defined the boundaries and applicability of our Integrated Management System (IMS). With careful consideration of external and internal issues identified by our team, the scope of our IMS applies to all Markwell Group operations, including the following products and services:
- Plant and equipment hire
- Demolition and licensed asbestos removal
- Crushing and screening services
- Recycled building materials
- Concrete recycling
- Construction development
All clauses of the standards are applicable, with the exception of Clause 8.3 Design—The Markwell Group does not provide design or development services within the scope of the IMS.

45 Years in Business
2025 marks the 45th anniversary of local family business G & G Markwell, and the company shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, we continue to grow, having finished 2024 on a high note and already in full swing for 2025.
Established in 1980, The Markwell Group began with humble beginnings—a shovel and a utility vehicle. The company took a significant leap forward when the opportunity arose to purchase an excavator for rockbreaking work in Papua New Guinea. From there, the business grew steadily and now boasts a fleet of over 80 machines.
Initially focused on demolishing houses with just a handful of employees, G & G Markwell quickly expanded. Today, the company employs over 60 local people, carrying out projects across Queensland.
Throughout the years, we’ve faced our share of challenges—economic downturns, the devastating effects of the GFC, and other hardships—but we've persevered through each obstacle. Our ability to weather these storms and come back stronger is what makes reaching 45 years such a remarkable achievement, especially when considering the many businesses in North Queensland that sadly didn't make it.
Today, G & G Markwell operates across four divisions:
- Plant Hire
Our plant hire division includes a fleet of excavators, loaders, articulated dump trucks, skid steer loaders, and rollers, alongside a fleet of trucks ranging from rigid body tip trucks to semi tippers and floats. - Demolition
We have a highly experienced demolition team capable of handling projects of all sizes, from small residential demolitions to large commercial undertakings. - Crushing
We offer concrete and quarry crushing services, along with recycling our own concrete stocks into various products for resale.
All our divisions are supported by a fully equipped workshop staffed by qualified tradespeople, and we have recently expanded to add space for three additional boilermakers. We focus on proactive servicing and repairs to minimize downtime for our customers.
